Bogged Down - Day 2 in Ireland

Let me introduce you guys to my field site for the next 5ish days, Lough Fee in the Connemara area...

bog
n.
1.  An area having a wet, spongy, acidic substrate composed chiefly of sphagnum moss and peat in which characteristic shurbs and herbs and sometimes trees usually grow.
2. An area of soft, naturally waterlogged ground.
v. bogged, bog ging, bogs
v.tr.
To cause to sink in
v.intr.
To be hindered and slowed

My definition of a bog? Slurpy moss that is too lazy to support weight.
I'll break it down into three different types:
Applesauce bog - doesn't even pretend to be solid ground, do not step on, you will disappear and never be seen or heard from again
Trampoline bog - self explainatory, jump at your own risk of everything below you liquefying
Grass chunk bog - safe until you realize you've misidentify grass looking bog for actual grass
Note to self...one bog can easily look like the other
